There was a busy start for the DD2 Masters Final with Michael Stephen leading ahead of Ryan Urban and Antti Ollikainen, the three protagonists of the Prefinal, followed by Jim Ringelberg, Luis Schiavo and Fernando Guzzi. The top four then got away slightly and Ringelberg attacked Ollikainen on lap 5. Charly Hipp was 7th behind Schiavo and Guzzi. Tomokazu Kawase was the last of the drivers on the track. Guzzi took 5th and joined Ollikainen while the battle raged between the leaders Stephen and Urban.
A compact group of six drivers led the second half of the race. For a time threatened by Guzzi, Ollikainen was revitalised and took 3rd place from Ringelberg, soon imitated by Guzzi. The battle intensified: Urban took 2nd place from Ollikainen, Ringelberg dropped to 6th position, then Stephen and Ollikainen fell to 11th and 14th. Urban recovered the leadership ahead of Schiavo and Ringelberg and these drivers would be the trifecta of the race, with Gabriel Zughella 4th and Renato Russo 5th. Hipp finished in 7th place and Christophe Adams in 8th.
