The sun began to break through the heavy cloud cover over the Adria Karting Raceway for the Qualifying for the European KZ2 Championship.
Matteo Viganò (Top Kart / Parilla) was the fastest of the 1st session with 47”258, followed closely by Fabian Federer (CRG / Modena) and Alessandro “Alex” Irlando (Energy / TM). Tom Leuillet (Sodi / TM) confirmed his good form in the warm-up before finishing 4th ahead of Marijn Kremers (ART Birel / Parilla). Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 10th position by 4/10 from the points leader Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Nicolas Picot (Tony Kart / Vortex).
The best time of the second session were set in the very last moment of the session. Francesco Celenta (Formula K / TM) finished 47”445 slightly ahead of Stan Pex (CRG / Vortex) and Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex). By a tenth, 4th went to Paolo Ippolito (Lenzo / LKE), followed by Francesco Iacovacci (Luxor / LKE). Pierre Loubère set a nice 6th time (Sodi / Parilla), two places ahead of Nicolas Gonzales (Sodi / TM) in 8th by 0.287”. Eric Ramon (Energy / Parilla) was 18th, Kevin Petit (Sodi / TM) 20th, and Gabin Leuillet (Sodi / TM) 21st.
Vigano therefore clinched pole in KZ2 ahead of Federer, Irlando and Tom Leuillet, Celenta ending up 5th overall followed by Pex, Lorandi and Kremers.
