This weekend will be focused on Normandy with the last of the four FIA Karting European Championship meetings for OK and OK-Junior at Aunay les Bois / Essay. Although the official lists show 180 entries, the field will be smaller on the track. Essay’s schedule is nonetheless very interesting with two great battles in sight for the titles. On paper the French squad totals 20 drivers.
There should be seven wearing French colours in OK. Franck Chappard (Redspeed / Parilla / VDK Racing), the reigning French Champion, is the best ranked in the championship in 24th position, with Jules Mettetal (Redspeed / Parilla / VDK Racing) in 29th. Evan Spenle (Kosmic / Parilla / VDK Racing) completes the regulars in international OK after Ugo Gazil’s departure from karting. Three wild cards complete the squad with Romain Leroux (Tony Kart / TM), Corentin Pelletier (Kosmic / Vortex) and Jeremy Potain (KR / Parilla / KR Motorsport).
With 13 young drivers, the Junior delegation looks great. In 8th position, Victor Bernier (Kosmic / Parilla / VDK Racing) will be aiming for the podium, followed in 10th place by Hadrien David (Kosmic / Vortex / Kosmic Racing Department). Evann Mallet (Kosmic / Parilla / VDK Racing) is 26th, followed by Isack Hadjar (Exprit / TM / Forza Racing) in 32nd, Sami Meguetounif (Formula K / Vortex / Formula K Racing) in 33rd and Loris Cabirou (Energy / TM / Energy Corse) in 34th, while Marcus Amand (KR / Parilla / KR Motorsport) is in 39th position. Macéo Capietto (KR / Parilla / KR Motorsport), Tom Uzan (Kosmic / Parilla / VDK Racing) complete the squad while Noam Abramczyk (Formula K / TM / Formula K Racing), Enzo Joulié (KR / Parilla / KR Motorsport), Craig Tanic (BirelART / TM / BirelART Racing) and Elliott Vayron (Tony Kart / Vortex) are the four wildcards benefiting from the French round to compete internationally.
