The Timed Practice of the FIA ??Karting European Championship – OK started on Friday afternoon under hot sun in Angerville.
Taylor Barnard (KR / Iame) was long in 1st place in the first session before being beaten at the end by Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / Iame) – 48”795 – and Juho Valtanen (Redspeed / Iame), the three drivers finishing grouped within 58 thousandths. Matheus Morgatto (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 4th place 0.135” ahead of Luigi Coluccio (Birel ART / TM). Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Iame) was only 9th, Thomas Imbourg (Kosmic / Iame) finished 11th, Nicolas Picot (Kosmic / Iame) 15th and Loris Cabirou (Kosmic / Iame) 17th.
In the second session, Dexter Patterson (KR / Iame) finished 1st with a lap of 48”807, more than a tenth ahead of Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Franck Chappard (Redspeed / Iame) while Kas Haverkort (CRG / TM) took 4th place and Gabriel Bortoleto (CRG / Iame) 5th ahead of Alex Irlando (Birel ART / TM).
With many laps in purple during the third session, Gabriele Mini (Parolin / TM) finished with a lap of 48”894. Axel Saamiala was in 2nd place by one-tenth, followed by Evann Mallet (Kosmic / Iame), Kirill Smal (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Genis Civico (Croc Promotions / TM). Sami Meguetounif took 8th place, and Tom Uzan finished 19th.
Delighted with pole, Hiltbrand was ahead of Patterson and Valtanen, then Barnard and Mini to make up the top five. Chappard was 8th overall, with Imbourg placing 22nd, Mallet 26th, Picot 30th, Meguetounif 35th and Cabirou 37th.
