The Qualifying sessions of the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy continued at the Le Mans circuit on Thursday 22nd August with the 24 drivers in the DD2 Masters category. By the late morning, the sun had warmed the atmosphere for the participants aged aged 30 and over.
Primoz Matelic (SVN – Praga) was very fast and close to 53”, Carl Cleirbaut (BEL – Tony Kart) then took the lead by a few hundredths of a second and seized pole position with a time of 53”095 achieved enough early in the session that he could drop Matelic by 78 thousandths. Scott Howard (AUS – Sodi) followed by 0.171”, ahead of Daniel Schollenberger (DEU – Sodi) and Romain Mange (FRA – Tony Kart), one of the top performers in the warm-up. Slawomir Muranski (POL – Tony Kart) held a good 6th place ahead of Roberto Pesevski (AUT – Sodi).
