After the prefinal, Mike Van Vugt (NLD – Exprit) and Oli Pylka (POL – FA Kart) were again side by side on the front row for the Junior Final of the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy at Le Mans. Although Van Van Vugt kept the advantage when the lights went out, Pylka gave way to Kai Hunter (GBR – FA Kart) for 2nd place before recovering and dislodging Van Vugt from the lead. The trio of Van Vugt, Pylka and Hunter was reforming again while Thom Reinaerdts (BEL – Exprit) mingled with an already heated fight. Pylka took a few steps ahead of Van Vugt, Reinardts was 3rd in front of Hunter and Dani Van Dijk (NLD – Exprit) joined the fight for the lead with along with Kamal Saeed Mah Agha (ARE – FA Kart). Van Vugt took control shortly after halfway and flew to victory with great determination. Joran Leneutre (FRA – Redspeed) had just entered the top five, Esteban Masson (FRA – Kosmic) had taken 10 places to 10th place, followed by Ryan Shehan (USA – OTK). Van Vugt finished a superb race with a convincing victory and the fastest lap with 2.4” on Reinaerdts who had finally taken the ascendancy on Pylka. Leneutre was 4th in front of Van Dijk.
Van Vugt was sanctioned for his incorrectly positioned spoiler and found himself 6th. The victory went to Reinaerdts ahead of Pylka and Leneutre, then Van Dijk and Hunter in the top five.
