The 48 drivers of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy racing at Wackersdorf started their Timed Practice sessions in a high temperature of more than 30° late on Friday afternoon.
The battle was long and hard in the first session to separate the best. Maximilian Schleimer (DEU) was finally the fastest after five laps with a time of 50”831. Yevan David (LKA) followed at 63 thousandths, then Dion Gowda (SGP) by 77 thousandths and Nikolas Ross (ZAF) at 80 thousandths. Oscar Wurz (MCO) was 5th by one tenth. Tom Braeken (BEL) was 6th and Augustin Bernier (FRA) 9th.
The second session was just as competitive and was faster. Bart Harrison (GBR) 50”755 on his fifth run. Reno Francot (NLD) was 2nd again on the next lap, 38 thousandths behind Maciej Gladysz (POL). Luca Neuenschwander (BRA) took 4th place by one tenth, while Caleb Gafrarar (USA) finished 5th at a short distance. The 10th place for Leo Robinson (DZA) was slightly disappointing.
