The Lonato Winter Cup has been moved from mid-February to mid-November due to a calendar impacted by the pandemic at the beginning of the season. The 26th edition of the famous Italian classic will therefore take place from 12 to 14 November 2021 at the South Garda Karting track. Of course, the interest for this event is not the same at the end of the year and the number of participants is affected by this with 170 entries. 42 KZ2 cars are expected, including 3 Frenchmen, Adrien Renaudin (Sodi/TM), Yohan Soguel (Oberon/TM) and Paul Loussier (Sodi/TM). Senn van Walstijn (Sodi/TM) will drive alongside Renaudin in the official colours of Sodikart. The Tony Kart Racing Team, KR Motorsport and most of the CRG Racing Team will be absent, except for Jaime Alguersuari (CRG/TM) and Jorge Pescador (CRG/TM). On the other hand, Francesco Celenta (Parolin/TM) and Lorenzo Travisanutto (Parolin/TM) will be present for Parolin Motorsport, as well as Birel ART Racing with Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART/TM), Marijn Kremers (Birel ART/TM) and Leonardo Marseglia (Birel ART/TM).
The OK category will be the least crowded with 18 entries including Kean Nakamura Berta (Exprit/TM) the Junior World Champion for his OK debut, as well as Akshay Bohra (KR/Iame), but also the more experienced Karol Pasiewicz (Tony Kart/Vortex), Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) and Nikola Tsolov (KR/Iame)
55 OK-Junior including French Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Thomas Qincé (Tony Kart/TM) against many big names like RFM drivers, Freddie Slater (Kosmic/Vortex) and his team mates, Kirill Kutskov (Exprit/TM) and Maciej Gladysz (Exprit/TM), Irfan Coskun (Parolin/TM), Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM), Rashid Al Dhaheri (KR/Iame).
The Mini Rok also attracted 55 drivers, including many of the usual Mini Gr3s.
The KZ2 and OK-Junior will be equipped with Vega tyres, Bridgestone in OK and Levanto (by LeCont) for the MiniRok.
The 6? qualifying practice will take place on Friday 12th between 10.27 and 11.33 am, with the heats following in the wake. Qualifying heats all day Saturday from 9.50 am to 4.40 pm. After the warm-up on Sunday, the Winter Cup specific Super Heats will precede finals will take place from 14:00 to 16:10.
