The world’s leading manufacturer is in Bahrain for the 21st edition of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. For the factories that supply the chassis free of charge to the 377 participants, this is an incredible technical and logistical challenge to meet every year. Thomas Paricard, Marketing and Communication Director at Sodikart, tells us about it.
“At the factory, we have been working on this event since the spring. Beforehand, we prepared 154 karts for the Junior Max and Senior Max categories, as well as numerous spare parts, screws and other equipment. In production and in several departments, the event has mobilised our employees for several months. Sodikart is also a partner of Rotax for the E-20 electric category, which required a little more specific work. A total of six containers were shipped to Bahrain. We had to deal with logistical constraints that had become more complex due to the pandemic. We are pleased to see that everything went to plan. The Sodikart team started work on time and all the karts were ready on Friday for the equipment draw on Sunday. No less than 11 people are present on site.”
Senna van Walstijn, who recently won the KZ2 European and International Super Cup titles, has accompanied the Sodi staff to the Middle East. “He is an excellent ambassador for the brand after the superb sporting season he has just had with our chassis and the CPB Sport team. He brings his technical expertise to the competitors who come to us for advice, with of course the support of our experienced team. So far, we have had excellent feedback from the drivers and their technicians following the first Free Practice sessions. Our chassis are appreciated, the basic set-up gave them immediate and excellent results, and the races are looking exciting.”
