The WSK Super Master Series 2022 started in Lonato this Friday morning with Qualifying Practice for the 49 OK drivers. The track was dry after the early morning humidity, with a cold temperature of 2° and overcast skies.
In the first session Kean Nakamaura Berta (KR/Iame) and Freddie Slater (LN/Vortex) had a battle with Menyhert Kroszer (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Joe Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex). The fastest times finally fell in the seventh lap and Gustaw Wisniewski (Exprit/TM) was the fastest on 46”106, 27 thousandths ahead of Slater. Luka Sammalisto (KR/Iame) came in 3rd, tied with Enzo Deligny (Parolin/TM) ahead of Nakamura in the top five.
Alex Powell (KR/Iame) and Matheus Ferreira (KR/Iame) were first to face each other at the front of Session 2. Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) joined them and Bianco. Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart/Vortex) then took the lead. But Ferreira concluded with pole position – 45’593 – a hundredth ahead of Powell. Taponen was 3rd, a tenth behind, followed by Rintaro Sato (KR/Iame) at 2.5 tenths and Coluccio 5th.
