The fight was on at all levels of KZ2 during the Qualifying Heats of the WSK Super Master Series #1 at Lonato. Two drivers stayed ahead of the fray to battle it out between them. David Trefilov (Maranello/TM) managed to make the difference with his two wins against only one for Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM). Further back Paavo Tonteri (CRG/TM) climbed from 15th to 3rd place ahead of Tom Leuillet (Birel ART/TM), who is definitely in the mix. Stan Pex (KR/TM) moved up from 10th to 5th place ahead of Giuseppe Palomba (Birel ART/TM), who moved up 14 positions. The two victories from Jérémy Iglesias (CRG/TM) did not make up for his difficult first heat, but showed an excellent competitiveness for the Frenchman. Arthur Carbonnel (Sodi/TM) kept pace with Moritz Ebner (Birel ART/TM) in 8th position.
Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM) finished strongly after retiring the day before, while Thomas Imbourg (Sodi/TM) was 18th. Like Hiltbrand, Adrien Renaudin (Tony Kart/Vortex) had been delayed on Friday before posting two top five finishes and finishing 20th. Arvid Lindblad (KR/TM) lost time at the start of the heats and was 22nd after his 3rd fastest in Qualifying, just ahead of Paul Loussier (Sodi/TM). The competition continued to be unfavourable to Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM). Already deprived of a Qualifying time, he did not start his second heat, but his efforts earned him 30th place. Damien Vallar (Sodi/TM) was in 46th position, with a gain of nine places, Matteo Spirgel (Sodi/TM) remained in 48th place and Celian Gallasin (CRG/TM) finished 56th. Corentin Rousseau (Sodi/TM) was the victim of a violent collision with Francesco Celenta (Parolin/TM) and unfortunately could not defend his chances after a very promising start to the competition.
