The last Final of this first weekend of the WSK Super Master Series, the OK-Junior, took place at Lonato in pleasant weather. René Lammers (Parolin/TM) and Oleksandr Bondarev (LN/Vortex) shared the front row of the grid.
Behind Lammers, Dmitry Matveev (Tony Kart/Vortex) was already 1,5” behind in 2nd position, but Bondarev immediately took his place and started to chase the leader. Kirill Kutskov (Birel ART/TM) was 4th ahead of Enea Frey (LN/Vortex) and Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM). Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) was 17th with a gain of six places. Lammers’ lead quickly melted away under the onslaught of Bondarev. The young Dutchman did his utmost to keep a gap of 3 or 4 tenths with the Ukrainian. The end of the last lap was punctuated by some contacts and Bondarev finally crossed the line in the lead by 71 thousandths. But the stewards immediately reinstated Lammers as the winner. Matveev followed in 2nd place, Kutskov 3th, Bondarev 4th and Miguel Costa (KR/Iame) 5th. Tye was sanctioned four places for bad manoeuvres and ended up 9th, Consani finished 16th.
