Alessandro Truchot, a French-American youngster aged eight, will compete in his first full season in Europe this year, mainly in Italy, the country of choice for the Mini category. After an interesting experience in the second half of 2021, he has taken the measure of the challenge that awaits him and started his progress against the top international hopes in the WSK. For his second event of the year, he has already managed to qualify as one of the 36 finalists for the first time of the WSK Super Master Series in Lonato, the temple of karting competition.
Trained in racing in the United States since the age of six, Alessandro has exclusively dreamed of making his mark on Europe since he got a taste of the Mini category in Italy. As a member of the official Parolin Motorsport team, he benefits from very competitive equipment and the support of an experienced team. Moreover, the wise advice of the double World Champion Lorenzo Travisanutto is very useful for the newcomers.
In addition to this ideal setting, Alessandro shows amazing determination for his tender age. He has understood that in karting only hard work will enable him to reach the top and he spares no effort to progress in this extremely competitive environment. Particularly attentive to advice, he has started to learn Italian on his own in addition to English, French and Spanish, which he speaks fluently. He knows that he does not yet have enough experience to aim for victory in Mini as he can do in the USA. His double programme in America and Italy will allow him to progress simultaneously and to reach his objectives in both territories.
Alessandro started 2022 with two successive victories in the SKUSA Winter Series in the Micro Swift category with pole position and the fastest time in the Finals each time on the Homestead Miami circuit. On the weekend of February 4th-6th, he took the start of the first round of the WSK Super Master Series at the South Garda Karting track in Lonato (ITA) as one of the youngest of the 90 Mini drivers. 26th in Qualifying, Alessandro took a top four in the heat and made a name for himself by setting the best lap in his Prefinal. He was able to qualify for his first Final in Italy, an important step for his future career. He will soon return to the Lonato circuit for the second meeting of the WSK Super Master Series, hoping for warmer temperatures.
