A very competitive Qualifying phase and many twists and turns upset the situation in KZ2 during the second round of the WSK Super Master Series in Lonato.
Poleman Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM) had already won three races, but a DNF in the first race this morning dropped him to 7th place. Stan Pex (KR/TM) climbed from 11th to 1st position ahead of Matteo Vigano (Birel ART/TM) and Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM). David Trefilov (Maranello/TM) and Adrien Renaudin (Tony Kart/Vortex) remained in the top five. Alessio Piccini (Birel ART/TM) moved up from 30th to 9th place ahead of Jérémy Iglesias (CRG/TM). Various setbacks delayed Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM), 13th despite his two victories. In the same way, Viktor Gustafsson (CRG/TM) dropped back to 15th place behind his team-mate Alex Irlando (CRG/TM) who came back from 35th to 14th.
Arthur Carbonnel (Sodi/TM) moved up 13 places to 18th, Tom Leuillet (Birel ART/TM) dropped back to 21st due to a retirement, while Thomas Imbourg (Sodi/TM) dropped from 45th to 29th. It was a tough day for Lorenzo Travisanutto (Parolin/TM) who was 3rd in the Timed Qualifying session and 36th on Saturday evening. Mattéo Spirgel (Sodi/TM) remained in 56th place, just ahead of Craig Tanic (Birel ART/TM), who was performing well but lacking success. It was the end of the road for the other Frenchmen who had already not qualified for the Final stages.
