With a dry track, sun and 10°, the conditions were ideal in Lonato for the KZ2 Final of the WSK Super Master Series Round 2.
Stan Pex (KR/TM) had already taken the lead at the start ahead of David Trefilov (Maranello/TM) and Matteo Vigano (Birel ART/TM). Giuseppe Palomba (Birel ART/TM) attacked immediately to move up to 3rd. Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM) was 4th ahead of Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM) and Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM) after Vigano’s crash in 7th position. Arthur Carbonnel (Sodi/TM) attacked Adrien Renaudin (Tony Kart/Vortex) for 8th place. Trefilov took first place on the fourth lap, while Denner was 4th ahead of Hiltbrand. Pex was looking for an opening on Trefilov while keeping an eye on Palomba behind him. Denner jumped to 3rd place ahead of Palomba before the halfway point. Hiltbrand followed in 4th shortly after. Van Walstijn was on the lookout behind the two Birel ART. The leading trio remained grouped within half a second. Vigano regained 5th position while Van Walstijn dropped back to 7th.
