Five Birel ART chassis monopolised the first five places on the grid of the KZ2 Final at the WSK Super Master Series in Sarno. Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM) and Laurens van Hoepen (Birel ART/TM) shared the first row. Hiltbrand got off to a very good start in front of a pack of rabid drivers but Giuseppe Palomba (Birel ART/TM) went off the track on the first lap. Jérémy Iglesias (CRG/TM) was chasing Matteo Vigano (Birel ART/TM) for 2nd place. Tom Leuillet (Birel ART/TM) attacked for 3rd place and passed his compatriot. Hiltbrand continued to extend the gap until 1.6” when the slow procedure was initiated following an incident on lap 4. The race was restarted on the seventh lap. Vigano tried to stay in contact with the leader Hiltbrand, Leuillet and Iglesias were not far behind. Hiltbrand broke away again and Leuillet moved up to 2nd place. Suddenly Hiltbrand stopped on lap 10 due to a technical problem. Vigano took the lead in front of Leuillet, Iglesias and Paolo Ippolito (KR/Iame). Emilien Denner entered the top five with nine places gained, overtaking Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM), provisional leader of the championship. Ippolito attacked Iglesias for 3rd position. Another twist: Denner retired on the 14th of 17 laps. Vigano won 0.54″ ahead of his team-mate Leuillet for a Leclerc by Lennox Racing double. Ippolito secured 3rd place ahead of Iglesias. Van Walstijn finished 5th and won the championship. Adrien Renaudin (Tony Kart/Vortex) finished 11th, Arthur Carbonnel (Sodi/TM) moved up 10 places to 23rd.
