With the opening round of the Champions of the Future series, the 2022 season enters the preparatory stages of the FIA European Karting Championships. Two weeks before the first European round, RGMMC launches its series at the Portimao circuit in Portugal from 24th to 27th March. The field of 139 entries gives an idea of the strength of the field with 71 OK-Junior and 68 OK. Logically, these figures are higher than those of the Winter Series organised in Franciacorta (ITA) a month ago. As in FIA Karting, the tyres will be supplied by Vega in Junior and MG in Senior. According to the current weather forecast, the temperatures should be higher than those of the previous races, with a maximum of around 18°. On the other hand, rain could well be part of the picture.
Nine French drivers are registered for this competition, 6 in OK-Junior:
Arthur Dorison (Tony Kart/Vortex) Tony Kart Racing Team
Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) Tony Kart Racing Team
Jules Caranta (Energy/TM) Energy Corse
Maxens Verbrugge (Exprit/TM) Forza Racing
Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) Sodikart
Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/TM)
and three in OK :
