67 OK drivers took to the track on Friday lunchtime at Kristianstad, alternating with the OK-Junior drivers, for Qualifying Practice for the third round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series under overcast but dry skies and 16°. Most drivers started between 4’30 and 4′ from the end of the session for a relatively slow first lap.
In the first session, Alex Powell (KR/Iame) was the fastest on lap 2 in 50’782. He improved by 4 tenths on his third lap ahead of Matheus Morgatto (KR/Iame) and Rintaro Sato (KR/Iame). The times did not change and Powell remained the leader on 50”389, followed by Sato by 5 thousandths. Morgatto finished 3rd at 79 thousandths, followed by Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM), then Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) 5th at one tenth. Lorenzo Travisanutto (Parolin/TM) was 9th and Joe Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex) 18th.
Maxim Rehm (LN/Vortex) was ahead of Harley Keeble (Birel ART/TM) and Enzo Deligny (Parolin/TM) on the first lap of the second session. Deligny then took the lead with a second lap of 50’831. The third lap saw Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart/Vortex) leading with 50’512. Coluccio improved and then took the provisional pole before Arthur Rogeon (KR/Iame) finished 3 thousandths faster with 50”315. Juho Valtanen (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 3rd, more than a tenth behind, followed by David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Rehm. Malo Bolliet (KR/Iame) finished 7th ahead of Deligny.
Yuanpu Cui (KR/Iame) finished the first lap of Session 3 in front of Ean Eyckmans (Tony Kart/Vortex). Freddie Slater (LN/Vortex) went through in 50’863 on the second lap and then improved to 50’724. Evan Giltaire (KR/Iame) finally took the lead on lap 4 in 50’441, 5 hundredths ahead of Slater, then Cui, Eyckmans by a tenth and Matheus Ferreira in 5th. Karol Pasiwicz (Birel ART/TM) finished 6th and Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex) 7th.
