The weather was fine with scattered clouds and 25 degrees in Franciacorta on Friday lunchtime for the Qualifying Practice of the 78 OK-Junior for the fourth round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series. Two laps were counted.
Session 1: Strauven – 48”848
On his second run, Thomas Strauven (LN/Vortex) set the fastest time of the first session with a time of 48’848, which was more than a tenth faster than Elliot Kaczynski (Tony Kart/Vortex). Iwo Beszterda (Parolin/TM) took 3rd place ahead of Kilian Josseron (Sodi/TM) and Alfie Slater (LN/Vortex), 5th at 0.178”. Jules Caranta (Energy/TM) finished 11th, Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) 15th, Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) 17th and Maxens Verbrugge (KR/Iame) 24th.
Session 2: Tye – 48”805
Already very fast on his first lap, Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM) improved to 48”805 on his second lap to take the provisional pole position by 8 thousandths against Taym Saleh (KR/Iame). The top seven were grouped within a tenth of a second. Martin Molnar (Energy/TM) finished 3rd, Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM) 4th and Emanuele Olivieri (IPK/TM) 5th. Arthur Dorison (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 10th, while Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/TM) was 26th.
Session 3: Gladysz – 48”938
The third session proved to be the slowest. Maciej Gladysz (LN/Vortex) set the fastest time in 48”938, a tenth faster than Anatholy Khavalkin (Parolin/TM) with Guillaume Bouzar (Tony Kart/Vortex) 3rd, Andres Cardenas (Energy/TM) 4th and Krill Dzitiev (Tony Kart/Vortex) 5th ahead of Dmitry Matveev 2 tenths behind.
