The track in Lonato was a little less cold than in the morning with 8° in the air for the KZ2 Final of the WSK Champions Cup. The grid featured a new front row with Freddie Slater (Birel ART/TM) and Adrien Renaudin (DR/Modena), followed by Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) and Matteo Spirgel (Sodi/TM).
Bertuca made a great start and led the first lap ahead of Viacheslav Putiatin (Falcon/TM). Spirgel was 3rd ahead of Maximilian Paul (DR/Modena), Slater 5th and Renaudin 6th. Bertuca was pushing hard to get away from the chasing pack. Paul moved up to 3rd. In 10th place, Artem Severiukhin (Birel ART/TM) set a fastest time. Slater was back in 4th ahead of Spirgel and Renaudin, who was threatened by Yevan David (Sodi/TM). After seven laps, Bertuca was leading 1.5″ ahead of Putiatin. David attacked Renaudin for 6th place, Slater reached 3rd position with the fastest time. At the halfway point, Bertuca had built up a lead of 2.4″. Renaudin regained his 6th place at the expense of David. Slater came up to Putiatin and passed him brilliantly on the 14th lap to take 2nd place. Spirgel got the better of Paul for 4th place. Bertuca scored a superb victory 3.3″ ahead of Slater, a sparkling rookie. Putiatin took the podium, Spirgel finished 4th, Paul and his team mate Renaudin 5th and 6th with Severiukhin close behind in 7th.
