After a short break, the Finals of the first round of the WSK Super Master Series started in Lonato under a cloudy sky and a temperature of 8°. OK-Junior opened the show.
Sebastian Lehtimaki (Tony Kart/Vortex) started in the lead, but Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) stole the show on the first lap. Kian Fardin (KR/Iame) was 3rd ahead of Alp Hassan Askoy (Tony Kart/Vortex), Filippo Sala (Sodi/TM) and Elliot Kaczynski (Tony Kart/Vortex). Lehtimaki quickly regained control of the race by overtaking Bondarev on the third lap. Kaczynski moved up to 4th ahead of Fardin and Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM). At the halfway point, Lehtimaki and Bondarev were neck and neck in the lead in front of Askoy who was becoming more and more threatening. Bondarev took over P1 followed by Aksoy, Lehtimaki was 3rd. Kaczynski was leading the chase in 4th, followed at a distance by Sala and Costoya, then Salim Hanna Hernandez (LN/Vortex). The battle intensified in the leading quartet and Aksoy took the lead on the 15th of the 17 laps ahead of Lethimaki and Bondarev. Kaczynski was forced to retire after a contact and an off-track accident. Aksoy took the lead 9 tenths ahead of Lethimaki, Hanna Hernandez took 3rd place 2.2” further back by controlling Bondarev. Costoya finished 5th ahead of Jindrich Pesl (IPK/TM) and Stepan Antonov (KR/Iame), Sala finished 8th.
