76 OK drivers competed in Qualifying for the Champions of the Future Euro Series at the Kartódromo Internacional Lucas Guerrero de Valencia under sunny skies and in temperatures of over 20°C.
Session 1: Powell 54”339
Ean Eyckmans (Tony Kart/Vortex) was fastest on the first lap ahead of Sebastiano Pavan (Tony Kart/Vortex). Alex Powell (KR/Iame) improved on the second lap with a time of 54”339, followed by Yuanpu Cui (KR/Iame) by a tenth. 3rd went to Thomas Strauven (LN/Vortex) ahead of Guillaume Bouzar (Tony Kart/Vortex), then Pavan and Eyckmans. Andrea Dupé (Sodi/TM) was 16th and Maxens Verbrugge (Birel ART/TM) 20th.
Session 2: Cuman 54”217
Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart/Vortex) set the benchmark on the first lap. Nicolo Cuman (Exprit/TM) finally set the fastest time – 54”217 – on the third lap 84 thousandths ahead of Przyrowski. Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR/Iame) finished 3rd by 0.180”, followed by Francisco Macedo (CRG/Iame) and Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM) in the top five. Jules Caranta (Energy/TM) was 6th ahead of his team-mate Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM). Joe Turney (KR/Iame) was 11th.
Session 3: Helias 54”178
The last OK session did not rush on to the track. Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM) was the fastest on the first lap against Enzo Tarnvanichkul (KR/Iame) and Arthur Poulain (Tony Kart/Vortex). Jimmy Hélias (Tony Kart/Vortex) regained the lead on the second lap, very close to the provisional pole. He improved on his third lap and took pole position in 54”178, one tenth ahead of his former team-mate Tarnvanichkul. Poulain secured a good 3rd place, 0.152″ ahead of Tye and Nacho Tunon (KR/Iame). David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex) finished 6th, Malo Bolliet (KR/Iame) was 12th.
