Close to the Polish border, the Steel Racing International Circuit in Trinec (CZE) hosted the second round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series. The 98 OK-Junior drivers are running their Qualifying sessions on Vega tyres on this Thursday, May 4th, under a partly cloudy sky and a temperature of 11°. Here we go!
Session 1: Van Langendonck – 53”283
After a reasonable first lap, Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM) was leading on lap 2 in 53”346 ahead of Dries van Langendonck (Exprit/TM) and Iacopo Martinese (KR/Iame). Van Langendonck was fastest on the third lap in 53’283. Costoya followed at 63 thousandths and Martinese at more than 2 tenths. Filippo Sama (Sodi/TM) was 4th and Andy Consani (Parolin/TM) 5th. 11th time for Louis Cochet (Sodi/TM), and 32nd and last position for Lisa Billard (Exprit/Vortex).
Session 2 : Pesl – 53”398
Nothing significant in the first lap, then Jindirish Pesl in 53”564 in the second lap ahead of Thibaut Ramaekers (KR/Iame) and Jack Iliffe (Parolin/TM). Pesl improved in 53”398 on the third lap, 0,183” ahead of Ramaekers and Iliffe. Gabriel Koenigkan (CRG/TM) was 4th followed by Noah Wolfe (Birel ART/TM). Maria Germano Neto (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 6th. 30th for Maël Le Marchand (OTK/Vortex).
Session 3 : Wherrell – 53”353
Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM) was 78 thousandths faster than Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) on the second lap with a time of 53’353. No one improved on the third lap. Eliott Kaczynski (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 3rd at 0.272″, followed by Alfie Slater (LN/Vortex) 4th and Alexander Chartier (IPK/TM) 5th and Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) 7th. Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame) was 12th ahead of David Cosma Cristofor (KR/Iame).
