France: NSK stronger than ever
For its 12th year, the National Series Karting organised by 3MK Events has confirmed its enviable position in the French karting landscape. A four-event championship dedicated to Rotax engines, the NSK broke its participation record at the opening of the 2023 season on the Salbris international circuit with 267 drivers divided into six categories: Mini 60, National (equivalent to Rotax Junior), Max Senior, Max Masters, DD2 and DD2 Masters. Sportsmanship and conviviality are the values encouraged by 3MK Events to ensure the satisfaction of drivers and teams.
The Rotax categories are becoming increasingly successful thanks to the maturity of the Evo range, which brings together a wide range of participants from 12 to over 60 years old. The new federal category for 8-12 year olds, the Mini 60 powered by Vortex, is already filling up with drivers, with the youngest able to compete with the most experienced. 3MK Events ensured the quality of the competition with a high-performance race control system and the broadcasting of live streaming for two days thanks to its partner WFR.
Italy: good momentum in OK-N and OKN-Junior
ACI Sport announced the opening of the Italian Championship from 18th to 21st May on the Cremona track. Amongst an impressive 270 drivers, the new categories launched by the FIA Karting have found their audience in Italy. The OK-N, with the Junior version requested by the Italian Federation, is therefore ready to tackle this new stage by adapting the qualities of the OK to national competitions, with the aim of creating a reliable, high-performance and more accessible category, intended to broaden the base of competitors in all countries of the world. More than 55 drivers are expected to participate in the first round of the Italian Championship.
Many teams are playing the OK-N and OKN-Junior game in Italy, having understood their interest in supporting the demand for these categories by drivers. According to ACI Sport, TM Kart is the leading supplier of OK-N engines. Modena Engine and LKE are also well represented, while Vortex and IAME are starting to ensure consistent deliveries in order to meet the ever-increasing demand.
Everyone is looking forward to seeing these new engines on the track to get a real feel for their potential at national level. There is no doubt that the results of Cremona will be observed far beyond the borders of Italy.
