It was a blank sheet of paper for the 94 OK-Junior participants in the third round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series at Rødby, the newly completed Danish circuit. Free Practice had given an initial indication, but OK-Junior Qualifying was to set the benchmark for Vega tyres. At midday on Thursday, the weather was still not very warm at 16°C and the sky was partly overcast.
Session 1: Costoya – 51”568
Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM) led by 51”676 on the second lap ahead of Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM). Both drivers improved their times on the third lap with Costoya at 51”568, followed by Wherrell at 12 thousandths. Louis Cochet (Sodi/TM) set a superb 3rd fastest time, 0.180” off the pace on his fourth lap. Murilo Da Rocha (Energy/TM) was 4th ahead of Ethan Lennon (Exprit/TM). Jimmy Hélias (CRG/Iame) was not present.
Session 2: Drummond – 51”510
Dries van Langendonck (Exprit/TM) was the fastest on lap 2 against Matias Orjuela (Birel ART/TM). Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) responded on lap 3 to finish in 51’510, a tenth ahead of Orjuela. Elliot Kaczinski (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 3rd, a tenth and a half behind, while Vivek Kathan (Parolin/TM) was 4th ahead of Langendonck. Thibaut Ramaekers (KR/Iame) finished 7th ahead of Taym Saleh (KR/Iame). Lisa Billard (Exprit/Vortex), who had cut her session short, remained at the back of the pack.
Session 3: Martinese – 51”546
Jack Iliffe (Parolin/TM) clocked 51”583 on lap 3, ahead of Alfie Slater (LN/TM) and Filippo Sala (Sodi/TM). Iacopo Martinese (KR/Iame) then set the fastest time of the session at 51”546, 37 thousandths ahead of Iliffe and 46 ahead of Slater. Sala was 4th ahead of Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame). Andy Consani (Parolin/TM) was 7th, Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/Vortex) 15th and Maël Le Marchand (Kosmic/Vortex) 24th.
