The Qualifying Heats of the European KZ2 Championship at Sarno were very close. Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) and Freddie Slater (Birel ART/TM) each won four of their five heats. Bertuca made the difference by finishing 3rd in his third heat to move up five places to 1st position. Slater conceded the lead by finishing 5th in his fourth heat. Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM) was very convincing in 3rd place ahead of Maxim Rehm (Birel ART/TM) and Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM) who completed the top five on equal points. Paavo Tonteri (CRG/TM) lost a little ground in 6th position, while Genis Civico (Parolin/TM) made up four places in 7th ahead of Artem Severiukhin (Parolin/TM). Daniel Vasile (Birel ART/TM) moved up 12 places to 9th ahead of Tim Gerhards (Sodi/TM). Jean Nomblot (Sodi/TM) was 12th behind Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR/Iame). Mattéo Spirgel (Sodi/TM) moved up 11 places to 14th, ahead of his team-mate Yevan David (Sodi/TM), while Thomas Imbourg (Sodi/TM) moved up 11 places to 18th. Alex Powell (KR/Iame) dropped from 8th to 21st due to two retirements. In 32nd place, Gabin Leuillet (Birel ART/TM) lost time in a collision, Vincent Wanègue (Sodi/TM) was 41st, ahead of former European Champion Angelo Lombardi (Birel ART/TM), while Tim Locati (Sodi/TM) finished 50th.
