Two sessions were needed in Qualifying for the 70 Junior Max drivers of the RMCIT. The weather was overcast but dry on Thursday morning in Le Mans with a temperature of 19°C.
Session 1: Dussol – 54”115
Lilan Soares (Redspeed/Rotax) was first into the lead ahead of Vivien Guyonnet (Redspeed/Rotax), then Jean-Paul Karras (Kosmic/Rotax) and Elyo Giltaire (Tony Kart/Rotax). Dutchman Kacper Schormans (Sodi/Rotax) then took over, followed by Georges Nassar (KR/Rotax) from the Emirates. In the end, it was Tom Dussol (CRG/Rotax) who was the fastest in 54’115, ahead of Austrian Toms Strele (LN/Rotax) 36 thousandths behind and Nassar 3rd at 55 thousandths. Rayane Bourguignon (Tony Kart/Rotax) finished 4th ahead of Schormans. Thomas Pradier (CRG/Rotax) was 7th and Matthéo Dauvergne (EOS/Rotax) 10th.
Session 2: Karras – 54”150
Henri Morineau (Redspeed/Rotax) was leading a group of five Frenchmen at the start of Session 2. Victor Galmiche (Tony Kart/Rotax) then took the lead, followed by Hungarian Armand Hamilton (Tony Kart/Rotax) and Briton Max Cuthbert (Sodi/Rotax). But it was Philippe Armand Karras (Kosmic/Rotax) who set the fastest time in 54’150, 59 thousandths ahead of Italy’s Alberto Kiko Fracassi (Tony Kart/Rotax). Enzo Perrot Thommerot (Sodi/Rotax) was 3rd, 65 thousandths behind, followed by Germany’s Hannes Ueberfeldt (Tony Kart/Rotax) in 4th and Hamilton in 5th. Antoine Grisel finished 7th, Galmiche 11th ahead of Maxime Prudent (Kosmic/Rotax).
