There was fine weather and 23° for the DD2 Masters Final at Le Mans on Saturday afternoon. Maxime Gravouille (Kosmic/Rotax) kept his lead over Romain Mangé (LN/Rotax) and Lennart Schreiber (MS Kart/Rotax). On the outside, Jannik Nielsen (Tony Kart/Rotax) was 4th. Gravouille was already 9 tenths ahead of Mangé, who also broke away from the pack led by Nielsen and Florian Bourdon (Birel ART/Rotax). Charles Seguin (Tony Kart/Rotax), who had climbed back up to 8th behind Olivier Paris (Tony Kart/Rotax), was the fastest driver at the time. After a complicated first lap, Vivien Cussac-Picot (Tony Kart/Rotax) was back up to 11th. On lap 5, Mangé was closing on Gravouille, who was suddenly less competitive. Nielsen overtook Mangé for 2nd place. Gravouille found a good rhythm while Bourdon put pressure on Mangé. Nielsen showed himself to be slightly faster than the leader, Schreiber came back to 4th, passing Bourdon. Gravouille resisted Nielsen’s pressure and went on to win by 4.5 tenths. Paris took 3rd place while Mangé dropped back to 10th, Bourdon finished 4th ahead of Seguin and Cussac-Picot 6th.
