The Super Heats of the OK European Championship benefited from the fine weather in Cremona, with temperatures of 26°C.
Super Heat A: Lammers dominates
Rene Lammers (Parolin/TM) got off to another good start, while Kean Nakamura-Berta (GBR) was already up against Luigi Coluccio (ITA) for 2nd place. Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM) was 4th followed by Alex Powell (KR/Iame). It didn’t take long for Stolcermanis to take 3rd from Coluccio, who was soon followed by Powell for 4th. Lammers was already 8 tenths clear by the 3rd lap. Nakamura-Berta was the fastest at the moment in his pursuit of the leader. Lammers rose to the challenge and set the fastest time. In 3rd place, Stolcermanis was 1.5 seconds behind the runner-up. Powell followed in 4th place ahead of Coluccio, who was passed by Mattia Colnaghi (CRG/Iame) on lap 9. As usual, Lammers was able to pick up the pace in the latter part of the race. Nakamura-Berta could do nothing. Powell attacked Stolcermanis with Colnaghi in tow. Lammers took the lead with a 1.9″ advantage and the fastest lap. Nakamura-Berta finished 2nd, Powell 3rd, Colnaghi 4th and Stolcermanis 5th.
Super Heat B: Tarnvanichkul confirms his position
Ean Eyckmans (Birel ART/TM) took over from Enzo Tarnvanichkul (KR/Iame) at the start with Francisco Macedo (CRG/Iame) 3rd ahead of Fiionn Mc Laughlin (KR/Iame) and Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) 5th. Dmitry Matveev (KR/Iame) was 7th behind David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex). Louis Iglesias (CRG/Iame) didn’t get off to a good start in the Super Heat, dropping back to 11th. Macedo moved up to 2nd ahead of Ean Eyckmans (Birel ART/TM) on lap 4. Mc Laughlin then moved up to 3rd followed by Walther and Gomez. Arthur Poulain (KR/Iame) moved up four places to 6th. The gaps remained limited between the top three, Tarnvanichkul, Macedo and Mc Laughlin after the halfway point. Walther was 4th at 1.2″. Iglesias had started to make up ground in 8th place. Tarnvanichkul accelerated in the final laps and took the win 3.8 tenths ahead of Macedo. McLaughlin was 3rd, Walther 4th and Gomez ahead of Poulain and Anatholy Khavalkin (Parolin/TM). Iglesias tried to take 6th position, but finished 8th.
The final intermediate ranking showed Lammers in the lead ahead of Tarnavinchkul, Nakamaura-Berta 3rd, McLaughlin 4th, Coluccio 5th ahead of Colnaghi, then Macedo, Stolcermanis 8th, Powell 9th and Eyckmans 10th.
