The Champions of the Future Euro Series at Franciacorta continued on Saturday morning with the Super Heats, under light cloudy skies and a temperature of 21°. The drivers who had been able to save two fresh tyres for the Super Heats had a clear advantage.
Super Heat 1: Nakamura-Berta makes a strong comeback
Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM) immediately took the lead over Enzo Tarnvanichkul (KR/Iame) at the front of the race. Emanuele Olivieiri (Birel ART/TM) was 3rd ahead of Louis Iglesias (CRG/Iame) and Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart/Vortex). Tarnvanichkul dropped back to 10th in the battle. Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR/Iame) had moved up six places to 4th. Pacôme Weisenburger (Redspeed/TM) moved up to 13th. Nakamura had moved up to 3rd ahead of Iglesias, while Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM) was back in the top five ahead of Guillaume Bouzar (Parolin/TM). Nakamura moved up to 2nd, Olivieri dropped to 5th and Iglesias was now 3rd. Full yellow on the seventh lap following an incident. Clément Outran (KR/Iame) retired. The race resumed on lap 11. Tye did not get off to a good start and was attacked, ending up in 4th place. Nakamura led ahead of Iglesias and Stolcermanis. Nakamura-Berta won the race with the fastest lap and a lead of 7 tenths after a nine-place comeback. Iglesias secured a fine 2nd place against Stolcermanis. Tye and Olivieri completed the top five, followed by Tarnavnichkul and Bouzar. Maxens Verbrugge (CRG/Iame) finished 14th, Arthur Poulain (KR/Vortex) 16th and Weisenburger 17th.
Super Heat 2: Turney dominates
Joe Turney (KR/Iame) chose to start from the outside lane, but without success. Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) led ahead of Alex Powell (KR/Iame). Behind Turney, Sebastiano Pavan (Tony Kart/Vortex) was back in 4th. Powell attacked for P1, with Gomez dropping back to 4th. Turney took 1st place on the 3rd lap. Kirill Kutskov (KR/Iame) had jumped from 11th to 3rd, but Gomez was quickly back up to 3rd. Eliska Babickova (Exprit/TM), with two new tyres on the left-hand side, was back in 5th. Rene Lammers (Parolin/TM) was 7th ahead of Dmitry Matveev (KR/Iame) and Jules Caranta (Tony Kart/Vortex). Jimmy Hélias (Tony Kart/Vortex) retired after contact. At the halfway point, Turney had a 1.7″ lead over Powell and Gomez. Babickova was 4th and Kutskov 5th. Matveev was then back in the top fiv. Gomez tried an ambitious attack on Powell, but lost ground to Babickova, Matveev and Kutskov. Turney went on to claim a masterly victory with the fastest lap and 4.5 seconds on Powell, who was under threat from Matveev. Babickova was 4th, Gomez 5th, Kutskov 6th, Lammers 7th, Pavan 8th and Caranta 9th. Andrea Dupé (KR/Iame) was 24th and Marc Lo Piccolo (Redspeed/TM) 31st.
