The KZ2 Prefinals of the WSK Final Cup at Franciacorta took place in sunshine but on a cold track.
Prefinal A: Bertuca ahead of Gustafsson
David Trefilov (Maranello/TM) had a clear advantage over Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart/Vortex) at the start, with Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) 3rd, Matteo Zanchi (CRG/TM) 4th and Alex Maragliano (Sodi/TM) 5th. Trefilov had a lead of over a second after four laps and Bertuca was in 2nd place ahead of Leuillet, whose pace accelerated at the halfway stage. Viktor Gustafsson (CRG/TM) came back strongly in 4th place. The positions in the top three tightened from the ninth lap onwards. Bertuca opened the scoring on lap 12 by overtaking Trefilov for P1, with Gustafsson joining the battle for 2nd place. Bertuca won, Trefilov finished 3rd and Leuillet 4th ahead of Zanchi. Enzo Lacreuse (DR/Modena) remained 17th.
Prefinal B: Orlov dominates
Marek Skrivanek (IPK/TM) and Markus Kajak (Birel ART/Modena) took the lead over Egor Nosov (IPK/TM) when the lights went out, before Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM) moved up to 3rd ahead of Mattéo Spirgel (Sodi/TM). Kajak took the lead from Orlov. Jérémy Iglaesias (CRG/TM) had made up five places to 8th after five laps, while Gabriel Gomez (CRG/TM) was back in the top five. Orlov moved into the lead on lap 6 and Daniel Vasile (Birel ART/TM) reached P3 with a six-place gain at the halfway stage. Iglesias then moved up to 6th followed by Sprigel. Orlov did better than resist Vasile’s comeback and won by 1.170″, while Vasile dropped back to 11th because of a spoiler penalty. Gomez finished 2nd, Nosov 3rd and Iglesias 4th. Spirgel was 7th, Arthur Carbonnel (CRG/TM) 8th.Celina Gallasin (CRG/TM) had retired.
