Nicolas Picot (FRA) started from the front row alongside Ben Cooper (CAN) on the grid of the RMCGF DD2 Master Final in Bahrain. Martynas Tankevicius (LTU) took the lead on the first lap, before Cooper moved up to 2nd ahead of Mathew Kisnman (NZL) and Picot. Vivien Cussac-Picot (FRA) and Maxime Gravouille (FRA) were 12th and 13th behind Rubens Barichello (BRA). Cooper took the lead on the fourth lap and gradually increased his lead over Kisnman and Tankevicius. Federico Rossi (ITA) was 4th ahead of Rodrigo Eckholt (CHL) and Jan Andriano (CHE). Picot dropped back to 9th. Matias Rodriguez (ARG) had moved up 11 places to 6th. Halfway through the race, Cooper lost his advantage to Kinsman due to a problem, the new leader with a 1.6″ gap. Tankenvicius was 3rd by more than 4 seconds before crashing out in 7th place. Rodriguez regained P3 more than 7″ behind Cooper, who was trying to catch Kinsman. Picot also retired, leaving Gravouille to rejoin the top 10. Kinsman maintained his pace in the closing laps to take a superb victory 1.9″ ahead of Cooper. Kinsman’s disappointment at the finish was due to an unhooked front fairing and the associated 5″ penalty which gave Cooper victory, his 4th in the RMCGF. Rodriguez was 3rd at 6.8″, Rossi 4th and Martin Konopka (SVK) 5th. Gravouille was 9th and Christophe Adams (NLD) 13th.
