There were two timed sessions at Lonato for the 41 OK drivers in the WSK Champions Cup. The sky was overcast with a temperature of 7°.
Announced as a Prema Racing driver, Andrea Dupé (KR/Iame) did not take part in the competition due to a health problem. A cyst in his knee necessitated a rapid operation which will keep him away from the track until the end of March.
Session 1: Drummond – 46”719
Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) was ahead of David Cosma-Cristofor (KR/Iame) and Malo Bolliet (KR/Iame). Drummond improved steadily before finishing in 46”719 on the sixth lap. Cosma-Cristofor followed by 69 thousandths, Mees Hoouben (Birel ART/TM) took 3rd place at more than 2 tenths, Guy Albag (KR/Iame) finished 4th and Bolliet 5th. Hugo Herrouin (KR/Iame) was 19th.
Session 2: Pesl – 45”568
Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) was well ahead of Guillaume Bouzar (CRG/Iame) on the second lap. Jindrich Pesl (Intrepid/TM) and Ean Eyckmans (Birel ART/TM) joined the fray on lap 4, followed by Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) and Salim Hanna (KR/Iame). Pesl finished on pole position – 45”568 – with Bondarev a tenth further back ahead of Eyckmans, Hanna and Leo Nilsson (KR/Iame). Consani was 12th.
