The temperature struggled to reach 7°C despite the sunshine in Lonato for the KZ2 Prefinals of the WSK Super Master Series.
Prefinal A: Bertuca takes a fine victory
Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) got off to a good start ahead of Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM). Andrea Dalé (CRG/TM) was 3rd ahead of Matthéo Spirgel (Sodi/TM) and Francesco Celenta (Tony Kart/Vortex). Denner was forced to retire due to a technical problem (loss of radiator water). Bertuca mercilessly distanced his pursuers by almost 3” on the 4th lap. Spirgel was a solid 3rd ahead of Celenta and Samuele Leopardi (Birel ART/TM). Giuseppe Palomba (Sodi/TM) was back in 7th behind Artem Severiujhin (Birel ART/TM). Bertuca was heading for a superb victory almost 3” ahead of Dalé. Spirgel secured a conclusive P3 ahead of Leuillet, who set the fastest lap. Palomba finished 6th, with Adrien Renaudin (DR/Modena) 10th .
Prefinal B: Maragliano wins
Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM) followed Markus Kajak (Maranello/TM) from the start, with Samuel Luyet (Tony Kart/Vortex) 3rd. Kajak retired on the second lap. Alex Maragliano (Sodi/TM) was back in 2nd behind Hiltbrand, Marijn Kremers (Tony Kart/Vortex) was then 3rd as Maragliano took the lead. Daniel Vasile (Birel ART/TM) was back in 4th place to battle it out with the leading pack. Kremers and Vasile overtook Hiltbrand, while Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM) moved into the top five ahead of Luyet. Maragliano led, with Vasile close behind and Hiltbrand back in P3 ahead of Kremers. Maragliano won ahead of Hiltbrand, Kremers 3rd and Orlov 4th. Celian Gallasin (CRG/TM) secured a convincing 8th place, Tim Locati (Sodi/TM) moved up eight places to 15th, Dorian Guldenfels (Birel ART/TM) finished 19th and Antoine Desmonts (Sodi/TM) 22nd.
