The Prefinals of the third round of the WSK Super Master Series got underway on Sunday morning at Franciacorta in the Mini Gr.3 category under a sunny but promising sky. The air temperature was 6 – 7°.
Prefinal A: Miron Lorente, winner under yellow flags
Daniel Miron Lorente (KR/Iame) did not let go of his P1 at the start, William Calleja (Parolin/Iame) took 2nd place ahead of Alessandro Truchot (Parolin/Iame) and Gioele Girardello (Parolin/TM). Zdenek Babicek (MS Kart/Iame) soon moved up to 4th ahead of Mark Pilipenko (Parolin/Iame), before Oleksandr Legenkyi (KR/Iame) moved back into the top five with a gain of four places. Grouped by just over a tenth, the top three – Miron Lorente, Calleja and Truchot – pulled away from the pack, with Legenkyi 1.6″ back at the halfway stage. Pilipenko soon replaced him in 4th position. The slow procedure was initiated on the seventh lap following an incident. The finish was judged under yellow flags. Victory for Miron Lorente ahead of Calleja and Truchot, Pilipenko 4th, Girardello 5th ahead of Legenkyi and Babicek. Zack Zhu (EKS/TM) finished 12th.
Prefinal B: Blandino resists and wins
Leonardo Gorski (Tony Kart/Vortex) got off to a good start, but Nikita Botte (Lenzo/LKE) immediately took the lead from Albert Tamm (Parolin/Iame) and Cristian Blandino (Tgroup/TM). Antoine Venant (KR/Iame) was 5th behind Gorski. Priam Bruno (Parolin/TM) had moved up 10 places to 6th, while Blandino was leading ahead of Botte and Tamm. The battle was on in the leading trio, 1.3″ ahead of Gorski and Bruno. Blandino resisted in 1st position, causing a regroup behind him. Bruno snatched 2nd place (+14 places) on the final lap. Daniil Kutskov (KR/Iame) took 3rd place ahead of Botte and Gorski, Tamm finished 6th and Julian Frasnelli (Parolin/Iame).
