The weather was rainy in Sarno on Saturday morning for the Mini U10 Prefinals of the WSK Super Master Series.
Prefinal A: winning comeback for Perico
Lucas Palacio (KR/Iame) held onto P1 at the start from Xavier Lazaro (Tony Kart/TM), followed by Carl Nellegard (Tony Kart/TM), Mark Loomets (Energy/TM) and Mason Robertson (Parolin/Iame) in 5th place. Lazaro moved up to 2nd on the second lap, with Niccolo Perico (Energy/TM) in 4th place behind Nellegard. Jean Poujol (Parolin/Iame) was back in 6th. Perico moved up to 2nd not far from Lazaro on lap 4 and began a battle with the leader. Poujol crashed out and Lazaro fell back to 8th after an excessive slide. Perico was on his way to a resounding victory with the fastest lap and eight places gained. Palacio was 2nd at 2.4”, Nellegard 3rd, Jason Kosmopoulos (Tgroup/TM) was 4th ahead of Lazaro.
Prefinal B: strong domination by Rea
Achille Rea (Tony Kart/Vortex) was leading, followed by Henri-Constant Kumpen (Tony Kart/Vortex), Davide Di Filippo (Parolin/Iame) and Edoardo Colucci (Parolin/Iame), while Stepan Mazepin (Tony Kart/TM) dropped back to 5th. Colucci moved up to 3rd ahead of Mazepin and Andrea Iannone (Energy/Iame) at the expense of Di Filippo, while Rea was well clear of his rivals at the front. Rea took victory with a new fastest time on the final lap and a 5.6″ advantage over Mazepin, who was back in 2nd. Iannone finished 3rd at 1.6″, followed by Kumpen 4th and Colucci 6th.
