It was a cloudy Sunday morning in Valencia for Super Heat A of the OK European Championship. Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) started from 1st place and maintained his advantage over Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM), Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM), Taym Saleh (KR/Iame) and Louis Iglesias (CRG/Iame). Matheus Morgatto (Birel ART/TM) spun under braking, dragging several drivers down with him, including Miguel Costa (Parolin/TM), David Walther (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Jimmy Hélias (KR/Iame). Khavalkin quickly attacked Wherrell for 2nd place. Gomez had a 7-tenths lead at the halfway stage, Khavalkin and Wherrell were still neck-and-neck for P2, and Iglesias had overtaken Saleh for 4th place. Noah Monteiro (KR/Iame) had moved up to 6th (+9 places). The intense battle in the chasing pack changed the hierarchy. Iglesias moved up to 2nd ahead of Khavalkin and Wherrell, while Noah Wolfe (Birel ART/TM) moved back into the top five. Gomez had increased his lead to over 2” during this phase, which kept his pursuers busy. He secured victory 2.1″ ahead of Iglesias, who was a very fine second despite pressure from Wherrell 71 thousandths behind him at the line. Khavalkin was 4th, Taym Saleh (KR/Iame) 5th. Tom Dussol (CRG/Iame) retired at the end of the race.
