The 50 drivers in the Academy Trophy didn’t have an easy time of it at Val d’Argenton when Qualifying took place in the rain.
Session 1: Allemann – 1’05”654
Sacha van’t Pad Bosch (NLD) made the difference on the first lap, followed by Dan Allemann (CHE). On the third lap, Allemann took the lead from Nikolaos Karagiannis (GRC). Allemann improved his best time on the 4th lap – 1’05”654 – while Joel Taipale (FIN) came 2nd, 3 tenths behind, followed by van’t Pad Bosch 3rd, Karagiannis 4th and Martim Barros Menezes (PT) 5th. Lilian Soares (FRA) secured 7th place.
Session 2: Sirimongkolkassem – 1’05”941
Belgian Gilles Herman made a name for himself on the first lap and was followed by Sirikhett Sirimongkolkassem (THA). Turner Brown (USA) and Nojus Stasionis (LTU) also joined the fray. Sirimongkolkassem finished with the fastest lap in 1’05”941, 21 thousandths ahead of Herman, with Erik Poulsen (SWE) third at 85 thousandths. Brown finished 4th and Theodor Toobal (EST) 5th, more than two tenths behind.
