2016 Technical Regulations
The MSA has advised of several updates to kart class technical regulations from 2016.
X30
With effect from 1st January 2016 there will be a number of variants to piston markings, reed valve markings, ignition, wiring loom and push buttons. All details are included on the engine fiche which can be downloaded from the MSA website Kart Technical page.
Honda Cadet
A new exhaust system will be introduced for the Honda GX160 engine from 1st January 2016. Although eligible from this date, it is not intended to be mandatory until 31st March 2016, which will be reflected in the 2016 Class Regulations when published. The final specification of the new exhaust system is currently being finalised and will be announced in a specific bulletin prior to 2016.
There will also be a new-for-2016 requirement for a non-return valve to be fitted on the fuel tank breather pipe for the Honda Cadet class. A specific model is not identified, but it must be functional and fit for purpose.
The MSA also published details of the Rotax and TKM changes that we posted in previous weeks.
